Ballot papers are now out for electing the next RCGP UK Council. Malcolm Ward, chair of the RCGP Rural Forum is standing for a place on the council, and his statement is copied below. If any other nominees wish to state their intentions for the advancement of rural issues, we will be happy to host their statements too.
“A key objective will be to raise the profile of rural medicine in the United Kingdom through education, research and the dissemination of good practice in rural health care. I have had over a decade of experience in working constructively with the Department of Health, RCGP, PSNC, the RPSGB, and other agencies through my past roles as a co-opted negotiator for the GPC and chair of the DDA. I feel this experience will enable me to be a useful contributor, not only to promoting good practice in rural healthcare, but to the wider aspirations of the College.”
If you’re a member of the RCGP, look out for your ballot paper. Every vote counts!
