There is currently a vacancy for a GP Principal at the Yell Health Centre. This is a single handed, dispensing, Paperlight, GMS Practice and the team delivering health care services is friendly, welcoming and very supportive. The post holder will be responsible for delivering Out of Hours services to the practice population. The post is suitable for Job Share. The Practice uses EMIS and DOCMAN.

As well as the Principal GP, the Health Centre also employs an Associate GP, who provides cover for 17 weeks of the year (to allow for compensatory rest for on call and of course, annual leave).

The island of Yell has a practice list size of just over 1000, (which includes 68 patients on the neighbouring smaller island of Fetlar) and has a regular ferry service to the mainland of Shetland 7 days a week. There are excellent school and leisure facilities. The island is also a top tourist attraction in the summer, with a number of beautiful beaches and sites of archaeological interest.

Shetland is a wonderful place to live and work. Shetland offers low pollution, low crime, excellent schools, great leisure facilities, unique wildlife and amazing scenery, whilst still only a short flight away from the UK mainland. To find out more about Shetland go to www.visitshetland.com
