BASICS Scotland is pleased to announce that its 11th Annual Conference will be held on Saturday 31st August at the Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld.
This year’s conference is being run with the theme ‘Extremes of Age’, and features topics such as sepsis, cardiac arrest, and paediatric emergencies. Plenaries led by experienced speakers will be interspersed with case scenarios ‘from the coal face’ and plenty time for questions (and answers).
The main day is flanked by two social events – turn it into a weekend, perhaps adding in a bit of golf if you’re into that. On Friday evening two Sea King aircrew (one from RAF Lossiemouth, one from HMS Gannet) will give us an insight into their life on the wire – and the prehospital skills that this demands. Saturday night sees the customary BASICS Scotland dinner at which members and non-members will be made very welcome.
Sunday is when many are recovering, but for instructors it offers a chance to catch up on the latest from the organisation.
This year’s conference is located in a very accessible location for most, and the conference committee has worked hard over the last year to make it a worthwhile and enjoyable event. Hope to see you there!
