10 Reasons to Go Rural – your help needed

recruitretainRecruit and Retain is a project which sets out to find solutions to the persistent problem of difficulties in recruiting and retaining high quality people to work in the public sector in the remote rural areas of Northern Europe. The core project will address issues and solutions with respect to health care workers.

Among many solutions the Highland team are developing promotional videos about the area that are less formal and more representative of rural life and work are key in the marketing strategy. Therefore we are looking for volunteers to feature in our video titled “10 Reasons to Go Rural” You can create it yourself and send it in to us, even just using your smart phone or tablet and e-mail: b.isaacs@abdn.ac.uk . The only thing we ask is that you are based in the Highlands of Scotland!

To help you understand what we are looking for we have made an example clip – see below. We want only ONE reason why you like rural life, the clip is to be short, to the point and as enthusiastic as possible. It isn’t just for people in healthcare, we will be targeting all public sector workers so if you think anyone you know working in public sector would be interested in helping us please forward this on.

Also, don’t worry if you no longer stay in Highland or in a rural area, you can still tell us why you liked it or why you miss it but we might not be able to use it in this particular video!

If you want any more information please get in touch. We hope you can help as nothing helps people understand rural life better than real people telling them why it is great.

We look forward to hearing from you.
