The next clinical governance workshop for BASICS Scotland responders will be held from 6.30pm-8pm on Wednesday 15th January.
As part of the BASICS Scotland clinical governance strategy, this meeting is open to all BASICS Scotland members, who can participate by attending its HQ in Aberuthven, or joining online by using AdobeConnect.
Two such meetings have taken place already, with great feedback. Dr Richard Price of EMRS has put together a programme of three case discussions from across Scotland – which will reflect the varying environments that BASICS responses are provided. This will include a paediatric trauma case, presented by Dr David Cooper, as well as other cases provided by Dr Mark Bloch and Dr Brian Fizsimmons.
In addition there will be the regular review of reported significant events, and a presentation by medical student Ross Hendry on some recent work that he has done to analyse nearly 1000 BASICS callouts over the last three years, which has produced some very interesting findings. These are largely based on the Patient Report Forms that all responders are encouraged to return to the BASICS Scotland office after each incident attended.
The meeting will be chaired by Dr John Ferris and attended by both Richard and Dr David Hogg (GP, Arran) who form the clinical governance group at BASICS Scotland.
If you are a BASICS Scotland member, please do come along/register to join us online – by contacting the office in Aberuthven.
