BASICS Responders provide prehospital care across Scotland, especially in rural and remote areas.

All members of BASICS Scotland are invited to join the next BASICS Scotland clinical governance meeting, on Tuesday 7th October from 6.30pm – 8pm.

Now running for over a year, these offer responders across Scotland the opportunity to hear and contribute to case discussion, clinical updates, activity reports and general discussion about prehospital care.  All are welcome, no matter what level of expertise/experience you have.  And it can all be done from home or work – via Adobe Connect – works through any up to date web browser with Adobe Flash Player installed which is straightforward to set up. There are also apps available for Apple and Android devices.

Members should have already received emails about these meetings, but for any queries you can contact the office directly at clinicalgovernance@basics-scotland.org.uk to register, and for technical advice about setting up your computer.  Broadband speeds down to 1Mb/s can be supported, so don’t let slow connectivity put you off – the faster the better.

We try to select a range of cases for discussion, to highlight both technical and non-technical skills – for everyone including rural GPs, hospital doctors and nurse responders.  For this meeting, there will be some focus on traumatic cardiac arrest, and how this might be managed in the resource-limited setting.

Members can also access recordings of previous meetings at the Clinical Governance ‘vault’ – login to the BASICS Scotland website, then click this link.

Hope to see you there!
