Wanted: Urban to Rural GP swap

Rachel Hopkins, London-based GP is looking for a 3 month job-swap so that she can experience rural practice somewhere in Scotland.  If you can help, please contact her, details below…

Come and live in London for a few months!

I am an inner city GP in London looking for a Scottish GP who would like to swap practices with me for a 3 month “sabbatical”. I’d like to swap homes and jobs and swap experiences of the differences and similarities between inner city and country practice.

The time period could be any suitable 2- 4 months from Aug 2012- Aug 2013.

I can offer 6 sessions/wk at the Killick Street Practice.  We’ve got a lovely modern building, friendly team, minutes from Kings Cross transport links, teaching and training practice. We have a fantastically multi-cultural patient group and a lively local community. No OOH unless wanted. Using Emis LV computer system, can offer training. I have a 4/5 bedroom house 3 miles from work near Finsbury Park and very close to a great collection of excellent and good value restaurants. All the opportunities of London at hand!

And indeed the Olympics in August 2012.

I would like to find a Scottish GP who is up for a bit of a change! I am open minded about different types of practice to visit and would prefer to work less than full time if possible. If you might be interested, please get in touch and we can discuss possibilities. If you cannot offer a full swap, I am also interested in locum opportunities or doctors who might want to come and  do my locum.
